3 Wellness Switches to make this year
Although many people may roll their eyes at resolutions, I think they’re the perfect way to embrace the re-setting of the calendar.
If they make you feel good, embrace them. If they don’t, leave them behind. It’s all about finding what works for you.
However you choose to approach this year though, I would like to encourage you to infuse it with a little bit more wellness. That doesn’t mean you have to book in 20 spa days or a massage every weekend (although that would be very very nice!). There are simple switches that you can make, which take little time, but have a big impact.
3 wellness switches to make
1. Reach for low or no alcohol
Don’t give up on me here! I’m not telling you to completely cut out your weekend glass of red. However, there’s little denying that alcohol just isn’t best for our health. To name one major issue, it suppresses melatonin. This is the hormone that promotes sleep and regulates your circadian rhythm. By drinking regularly, your shut eye is probably being more affected than you think - And worse sleep means that you’re not able to make the most of your day-to-day.
However, the UK seems to be waking up to the fact that there are some great alcohol-free options out there. In fact, in the last 5 years low-alcohol and no-alcohol beer sales have almost doubled.
For a tasty tipple without the disturbance to your night time, Sentia could be a great option. It claims to offer the relaxing sensations of alcohol, without the downsides. And it tastes delicious!
Another firm favourite here at The Muses HQ is Something & Nothing - who offer a range of grown up seltzers (0%) and spritzers (4%) that are truly delicious.
2. Take exercise, outside
I reckon that 2023 will be the year that people focus less on exercise and more on simply getting outside! With a holistic approach to wellness creeping in, you may want to ditch some of your gym sessions for an outdoor workout. Even just a walk around the park.
Better sleep, improved breathing and a lower chance of depression aren’t to be sniffed at.
NatureQuant offers a clever little app for embracing this type of wellness. It monitors your aggregate time inside, out and exposed to nature. Enlightening doesn’t even cover it!
3. Use scent scaping
Whatever you’re hoping to achieve this year, there’s a fragrance for that…
Scent scaping is the process of using your sense of smell to encourage your brain to feel a certain way. It’s been shown time and time again that natural scents can almost “hack” our minds, so that we can enhance our moods in whatever direction we choose.
Tap into this power in 2023, to make your work days more productive, your chill time more relaxed and your social moments as connected as possible.
At The Muses, we offer products which have been carefully chosen to act as scent signals for your day. Each candle and diffuser is blended to evoke a particular mood. Plus, you can find out on our product pages what scenarios they’re best suited for: Morning yoga or your evening bath.
